Alchol Inking Project

I watched all these videos from Designer Garden in www.twopeasinabucket.com and learned how to use my alcohol inks. SO couldn't wait to start this! I bought two frames at the dollar store, painted them with white acrylic paint. Took the glass out and inked the back side, let it dry, turned them over and stamped/heat embossed other side. When all done, I glued the glass to the frame so I didn't have to put the backing back on - I wanted the wall color to show through a bit. Then just hung them on two nails - one in each top corner. Aren't they COOL?

Planting....and some artwork....

These were the new roses I planted this year. They are blooming! And so pretty!
This was done on a piece of pine bark. We peeled off the bark before using the logs as fire wood outside. They are really "wet" from the sap, so we put weights on the corners and let them dry flat - they end up with a little curve, but it looks nice - a rustic look. Then I painted some of it with acrylic paint - I made a burgundy color, glued the picture down with Modge Podge after brushing the edges with Staz On, and added the ribbon and flowers. Not sure if it needs "something"......I don't really want to take away from the pine by adding too much. I love doing these though....I'm thinking of putting a quilt block on one....
I've tried hanging these, but like them much better propped up on a shelf or in a corner somewhere....
Any suggestions or ideas GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Tomorrow we are soaking some grapevine my husband cut down from our woods and reshaping it for a wreath or swag above our french doors - will make sure to share when done!!

The ART of Relaxation.......

Lacy is an expert at it.....
I took these a couple of weeks ago & while printing out some photos today, I came across them.....and thought "now this is creativity...the art of relaxation". And she does it well. She's an awesome dog...I just love her. She does make me want to try this once in a while.

A little bit of country & a little bit of creativity

Well first, Autumn is just dying to make a debut. She followed me around, sitting nicely everytime I turned around...so I snapped her picture. She is such a GOOD dog and supports me in all my creativity - sits or lays in my craft room when I'm in there - loves to play with all the stuff in there. Once in a while, she sneaks in there and steals a spool of thread or a paint brush and I have to chase her for it. Most of the time, I remember to shut the door. I think if she was human, she'd be right there with me creating.

I didn't piece this quilt, but I did the hand quilting in it. I really love the heart pattern I did - definitely will use it again.

My little one and my friend Laura's little one. How cute are they!!!!!! So peaceful looking....

My husband, Chuck, playing ball with the dogs....this is Riley(the chocolate) and Blue(the yellow). Riley is great at catching the ball in the air. Blue....not such much...but she sure looks good!

I did do scrapping this past weekend and forgot to take pics of them.....may have two posts this week!!

Sitting outside on Sunday.....

More hummingbirds are coming in! I'm so excited! And flowers are popping up on all of our plants and bushes....it's so nice to see everything "waking up"....

My husband trimming down the daffodils.....we trim ours as soon as they wither up and start turning brown - they always come back.....

Our lilies are getting so big! So are the rose bushes. I love love love it!

This weekend seemed to be all about birds.....

So many of our "summer visitors" are making their way back here. I love it!!! And ever since we've lived out here in the country AND put bird feeders up, it's amazing how many different kinds start to come around and make our home their summer home......
And this one is not a bird of course....but I like the way this picture came out of the daffodil. They were piled on the trailer waiting to be planted to a new spot and this one was "peeking" over the wheel....

More Art....

This past weekend's little project....

Then I added our names to it.....

I love the pictures on canvases. I want to do one of the dogs next and put them with a plaque that says "God so loved the world He gave us dogs"......isn't that SWEET! Maybe this weekend I'll get to do them...the weather is not supposed to be as nice....
I started a LO on a piece of pine bark too.....will post hopefully next week...should be done.
