Planting....and some artwork....
These were the new roses I planted this year. They are blooming! And so pretty!
This was done on a piece of pine bark. We peeled off the bark before using the logs as fire wood outside. They are really "wet" from the sap, so we put weights on the corners and let them dry flat - they end up with a little curve, but it looks nice - a rustic look. Then I painted some of it with acrylic paint - I made a burgundy color, glued the picture down with Modge Podge after brushing the edges with Staz On, and added the ribbon and flowers. Not sure if it needs "something"......I don't really want to take away from the pine by adding too much. I love doing these though....I'm thinking of putting a quilt block on one....
I've tried hanging these, but like them much better propped up on a shelf or in a corner somewhere....
Any suggestions or ideas GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Tomorrow we are soaking some grapevine my husband cut down from our woods and reshaping it for a wreath or swag above our french doors - will make sure to share when done!!
